NVSL Divers Compete Well at USA Diving Zones

This past weekend 32 NVSL divers competed in the USA Diving Junior Zone Championships. There are a number of USA Diving teams in our area, the most prominent being Dominion Dive Club (DDC), Alexandria Dive Club (ADC) and Montgomery Dive Club (MDC). Most of our divers dove in Zone A in nearby Rockville MD, though a half dozen were diving in Zone B out in Ypsilanti MI. In order to get to the Zone Championships they had to finish in the top 15 at one of last month s regional meets. [The Region 1 16-18 Girls 1m event had 53 divers!] The divers who finished in the top six at Zones qualified for next month's Speedo Jr National Championships in Knoxville TN. Those who finished seventh through twelfth qualified for USA Diving s Age Group Nationals (also in Knoxville). Congratulations to all those who competed, they did a great job and many had personal best performances!
