We had another very good turn-out for yesterday's annual Wally Martin
3-meter meet.

NVSL Dive had 74 divers competing from 28 teams and there was some
really great diving. As impressive as some as the more experienced
divers were, the efforts of those who had limited or no experience going
off a 3-meter board was equally impressive - this was also recognized by
the audience. My hat is off to all who participated.

Yesterday was the third meet that NVSL Dive has run using the web-based
DiveMeets.com software. All in all, it seemed to run fairly smoothly
and last year's initial lessons were helpful. The meet results have
been uploaded to DiveMeets.com and you can view them at the following

I would like to thank all those who worked in support of
yesterday's meet - Judges and Referees, table workers, team reps,
coaches, divers, parents and the Oak Marr staff who hosted the event.
I'd like to especially thank Lee Bowersox for all his advice, Tony
Taylor for his work in maintaining our arrangements with the
DiveMeets.com people, Mary Bowersox & Arlene Pripeton for leading the
efforts at the scorers table. A special thanks to Kurt Burgeson who did
an outstanding job of announcing the entire event and thanks to Mr.
Flory who provided an additional speaker to place on the 5 meter
platform, my take is that everyone could hear announcements during the
entire event.

As well as the event went, there's always a need to look for ways to
improve whether in the registration/sign-up phase, check-in, or conduct
of the competition itself. If you have constructive
comments/suggestions, please send them to me (plbdmj_r@yahoo.com) and Cc
Lee Bowersox. I've saved every e-mail I've gotten and plan to review
them for improvements next year and it's quite possible that Lee may
appreciate your thoughts as we look forward to All-Stars in August.
